Douglas Black, MD, is a highly qualified Neurologist with board certifications in Adult Neurology and Sleep Medicine. Dr. Black’s expertise is widely recognized, with a strong background in managing patients dealing with traumatic brain injuries, headaches, and sleep disorders resulting from sports-related injuries, accidents, and other traumatic incidents.
His academic journey began at the University of Miami, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. Subsequently, he pursued his medical education and Residency at the University of South Florida. Following, he completed a Fellowship at the University of Vermont College of Medicine, which paved the way for his extensive career in Clinical Neurology before returning to South Florida to further his professional journey.
Dr. Black’s approach to patient care involves leveraging his vast experience in clinical neurology and sleep medicine. He specializes in assessing patients for conditions such as post-concussion syndrome, headaches, sleep disturbances, pain management, balance issues, neurological pain disorders, and the cognitive and emotional consequences of brain injuries. His diagnostic process integrates comprehensive neurological examinations and neuropsychological assessments to tailor personalized treatment plans to help restore neural function and enhance patients’ quality of life.
